Review: Wool by Hugh Howey

Wool Omnibus (Silo, #1) (Wool, #1-5) - Hugh Howey

So I sat down to read Wool with a heavy heart.

I've read so many dystopian novels this year, each one with a wet rag of a female lead. Wool was an impulse supermarket purchase so I was unaware of the rave reviews behind it. It's long. And the font is really tiny. The title is dumb. However .....

I was super, fantastically, incredibly pleasantly surprised. Wool is fabulous! Awesome! And after years of searching I have finally found a heroine I can really get behind 100% - Juliette is kick-ass! She's brave, she's smart and she's loyal. She doesn't go all pathetic when a lover is introduced. She has an incredible skill set and will to survive. I adore her. I wish she was my friend.

Look. Just read it. Okay? Go out and buy the goddam thing, sit down and just read it. Aright?! I don't have the words to review this, other than it's just a really great story. And I loved it dearly. So go. Get it. And enjoy. You're welcome.

Wheee!
